OLIVIA ROCCO ~ AWARD WINNING PHOTOGRAPHER IN HERTFORDSHIRE
Thank you for visiting my site, I am a professional photographer based in the cute village of Stanstead Abbotts, Nr Ware in Hertfordshire. Together with my amazing PA Kayleigh who also runs the Mums Guide To Hertford website we run a pretty tight ship to ensure clients receive a boutique high-end photoshoot experience.
I have families travel to me from Hertford, Ware, Hoddesdon, Broxbourne, Stevenage, Welwyn Garden City, St Albans, Buntingford, London and further afield from Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire. I am always extra honored when people travel bigger distances to get to me. So far the record holder is 108 miles.
I absolutely love my job and couldn't envisage myself doing anything else. I took up photography late in life (in my 30's in fact) which given I grew up as a photographers model for my mum who was a wedding and portrait photographer, and my whole childhood is told through images which I treasure, it is an odd thing that I never thought to pick up a camera sooner. It was a flippant comment from a friend about how good I was at taking photos sparked the intrigue which FAST developed into a passion and a business. I always saw myself as an artist but I always thought it would be paintbrushes, however, in greek, photography literally means 'Painting with Light' so I guess you could say my inner artist was finally set free.
I would love to say newborn is my absolute passion, it used to be until I started training in other photography fields like child and family fine art portraiture. So I now have to from the heart say my last photoshoot is generally my favorite - its a changing and ever-evolving thing, which is why I adore my job. I could not be anything, other than a photographer.
In October 2018 I gained my Licentiate Accreditation and Newborn Certificate from the Master Photographers Association which was an absolute honor and a full circle for me as the first trainer I worked with was indeed Ray Lowe the Chairman of the MPA.
I can now proudly say I have won 26 awards and featured as the image of the day with the Guild of Photographers twice.
WHY BOOK OLIVIA
As a newborn photographer, I will hold, soothe and pose your baby gently and safety. I am not only a mother myself (this alone isn't a qualification for posing newborns!) but I am trained by some of the best trainers in newborn art, to ensure your little ones are moved around safely, keeping a close watch on their breathing, colouring, and temperature. My studio will be heated to similar temperatures you had in the hospital. This is because newborns have an inability to control their own body temperature. I am often called a baby whisperer, but I like to believe babies have a sense of security with me and that is why they relax, this also enables parents to relax. I am one the first few people who will handle your baby for such a big period of time (full newborn sessions take 3 hours) allowing for feeds and changes where needed. Apart from family, not even your midwife handles your baby for this long, so I am always honoured to be chosen to capture your images and pour my heart and soul into each session, my clients often comment they can see I love what I do.
